ARE YOU DRINKING ENOUGH WATER?

Updated: Jul 6, 2023

Water is the second most important element the body requires after air.
Almost every cell in the human body contains water, 79% of our muscles are made of water, 73% of our brain, and even 31% of our bones. Overall, your total body weight can be around 60% water, more or less dependent on age.

Without sufficient water, a serious problem begins to occur. The functioning of the colon starts to slow down. This is bad news because it can then become a breeding ground for parasites and bacteria, which can eventually lead to malnutrition and dis-ease.

Understand that drinking things like coffee can dehydrate the body. For every cup of coffee, it requires 2 cups of plain water to compensate the effect.

Our body is constantly losing water throughout the day, with 12% being lost through the lungs, 22% through the skin (extra if you exercise). 8% is lost through the colon and 60% through urination. With that said, you can see how easily we can become dehydrated, and begin to get symptoms if we do not replenish our bodies with the correct amount of water.

Consider increasing your water intake if you suffer from any ailments, like:

ASTHMA, ALLERGIES, HEARTBURN, CHRONIC ARTHRITIS, OSTEOPOROSIS, ANGINA, MIGRAINES, COLITIS, HYPERTENSION, DIABETES, CHRONIC FATIGUE, DEPRESSION, MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS, LUPUS, & FIBROMYALGIA.

A simple rule is to get your weight in pounds, divide it in half, then this should be the number of ounces you must consume at a minimum, daily.

For example, if you weigh 150 lbs., drink 75 ounces of water daily. If you weigh 200 lbs., drink 100 ounces of water daily. Note that drinking other beverages, like tea, coffee or soft drinks, do not replace pure plain water. The body’s cells require a clean, low mineral content fluid to function in a healthy state. The only fluid that meets these requirements is pure, clean, water. If you do aerobic exercise, make sure you replace the water lost during your workout.

Increase your water intake this week and notice how much better you feel!
