HOW DIET CAN EFFECT HORMONE IMBALANCES

When our hormones are disrupted, it can cause an array of health symptoms, from Hashimoto’s, hypothyroidism, endometriosis, even breast cancer. And yes, what we put into and onto our bodies makes a massive difference girls!
During my research, I have come to the conclusion that it really all stems down to some basic principles.
To help balance hormones, we need to first eliminate the main disrupters. These include:
  • Dairy
  • Meat
  • Gluten
  • Eggs
  • Pesticides
  • Herbicides
  • BPA
  • Processed Foods
  • Toxic Cleaning Products
  • Hairspray
  • Nail Polish
  • Chlorine
  • Fluoride
  • Solvents.

This seems a long and daunting list but start at the top and work your way down, eliminating one item per week perhaps.
It is advised to then detox the adrenals and lymph system, to remove the toxicity that has accumulated over a period of time. You can do this with an all juice cleanse, and by using herbs and specific herbal blends. (Find a health practitioner to help you).
Rebuild and protect the body by eating organic food that hasn’t been sprayed with endocrine disrupting pesticides and fertilizers
Taking extra care of your liver and thyroid--they’re two of your frontline endocrine organs, and they need extra care.
Limit or eliminate, your intake of animal fats (includes all meat and dairy products), and take great care with which seafood products you eat.(Specific fish contain high amounts of mercury, which can also play havoc with hormones)
Supplement with iodine (find an iodine specialist) and vital minerals, eat nutrient- and enzyme-rich raw foods.
Get a reverse-osmosis water filter to get the nasty stuff out of your water.
Eat foods that will help you flush toxins from your body--not add to them. Raw, unprocessed foods should be the bulk of your diet. Steer clear of fried, packaged, microwaved or fast food.
Get your house in order: Get rid of mystery chemicals and cleaners, dangerous plastic containers, pesticides, sprays, and fragrances.
I hope this information can help someone with their hormone related conditions, it certainly helped me.
Please remember to always consult your Doctor/physician if you change your diet and are on medication, as it will need to be monitored closely.
